Reading Guide

A big ol’ list of texts relevant to learning about New Zealand society. It’s all broken down by topic so there are repeats wherever a text is useful on more than one subject. I’ve also added a film section (mostly documentaries) to the arts section at the end for good measure, and I intend to expand this as a living resource in the future. I’ll be linking to my reviews of texts in question where relevant. I’ve put this together in the hope that those who stumble across this blog might find it of use in learning about New Zealand as it really is warts, contradictions, and all. My greatest hope is that this guide plays some small part in a flourishing of study groups, DIY readers, research collectives, and all manner of political education projects to deepen our understanding of and sharpen our ability to change New Zealand.
